A esta altura de los acontecimientos, después de dos meses de huelga universitaria nos encontramos con que el go bierno persiste en sus propósitos de condenar a la Universidad y al país a la miseria, sancionando un presupuesto que consti tuye una verdadera estafa al pueblo. / Cuando salimos a la defensa del Presupuesto Universi tario, sabíamos que nos enfrentaríamos a una política presupuestal que estaría acorde con la política económica del gobierno. Por eso desde el comienzo entendimos que luchábamos por algo más, que por una simple demanda económica y que ello signi ficaba además un enfrentamiento con todas las fuerzas regresi vas del país; la gran prensa, las redios, en fin contra todos los grandes intereses. Nuestra lucha no puede terminar por lo tanto con la sanción del Presupueste, ya sea bueno o malo; la FEUU ha de realizar una* demostración de su poderío el mismo día en que a fuerza de votos, el partido de gobierno decrete para las / clases populares nuevos años de miseria. Pero no hemos de es tar solos, sino que justamente aquellos que son los más perjudi cados, los obreros conscientes de nuestra lucha y su trascenden cia, han de estar junto a nosotros, en procura de la mejor solu ción para un problema que atañe a todos. Pero los estudiantes, más que nadie, están interesados en el problema presupuestal de la Universidad. Y ese día, en que se juega definitivamente la batalla del Presupuesto, ha de ser un día en que cada estudiante se defina en favor o en contra de la política del gobierno. De cual haya sido su decisión, lo dirá su presencia o su ausencia de esta demostración. La Central Única de Trabajadores del Uruguay y la FEUU organizan el martes 29. a las 18 horas, una gran concentración frente al Palacio Legislativo; los estudiantes nos reuniremos en la Explanada de la Universidad a las 17 horas, para partir en columna por la calle Sierra hasta el Palacio Legislativo. Resume, sobre todo este año, de agu- dez brutal de las tensiones sociales, las necesidades de una movilización popular intermitente. Auna las relacio nes fraternalmente militantes entre el estudiantado y los trabajadores; el accionar diario guiados por el grito de ¡Obreros y estudiantes, unidos y adelante! Como siempre, hombro con hombro, en la lucha con los gremios en conflicto, con el personal de "YA", con los compañeros de Regusci y Voulminot, con los cañeros de UTAA, con CINOCA, con los Municipales y los com pañeros del Transporte, y con tantos que integran esta campaña de exigencia nacional. La FEUU y la CNT manifestarán este lo. de Mayo, abriendo nuevos canales en la pugna por desalojar para siempre a la clase dominante, e imponer al pueblo en el poder. UNIDAD, SOLIDARIDAD Y LUCHA. F.E.U.U �RAZONES PARA LA LUCHA, Y 3.000 MILLONES QUE SE DEBEN PAGAR •La deuda que el gobierno mantiene con la Universi dad asciende a más de 3.000 millones de pesos, producién dose atrasos en los pagos desde 1967. Se cubren y aumen tan los presupuestos represivos; se destruye la Enseñanza. •Los problemas locativos son enormes. Facultades co mo Medicina, concebidas para un par de centenares ab sorben más de 2.000 e^tudiantes. En Humanidades, son cientos los que no pueden asistir a clase porque no hay lo cal ni sillas y exigen la remodelación del 3er. piso. Tan sólo algunos^ejemplos, de la trágica situación. •La dependencia de nuestro país se hace mayor tam bién en el plano científico, cuando se coartan las posibi lidades de Investigación al no entregar rubros para ello. Se quiere una Universidad que vegete, sin profundizar en los problemas de las ciencias naturales y sociales. •Se arriesga la salud de 6.000 uruguayos que periódica mente se atienden en el Hospital de Clínicas. La salud parece ser un lema, siempre que se trate de la salud de la burguesía. •Se pagan con retrasos las becas a más de 2.CO0 estu diantes de bajos recursos provenientes del Interior, creán doles dificultades para su permanencia y estudio. No se invierten los rubros dispuestos en las obras de Comedor Universitario y Hogar Estudiantil. ¡HAY QUE PAGAR A LA UNIVERSIDAD!
